Music-thanatology vigils
What is a music-thanatologist?

Music-thanatologists have a compassionate presence and work with body systems phenomenology to determine the best delivery for each person. After assessing vital signs, patient history and moment-to-moment presentation, music-thanatologists use clinical methodologies to deliver one-of-a-kind prescriptive music that addresses the person’s physiological, emotional and spiritual well being. A vigil lasts approximately an hour and can be done in almost any setting.

Please contact Ron at 425-876-6502 to schedule a vigil.
A music-thanatologist can work with a person whose breathing is rapid and through the process of synchronization and entrainment, may be able to slow the respiratory rate and relieve discomfort. Very often, the music-thanatologist can work with a person who is sleep-deprived or anxious and help them to rest or fall asleep. The music-thanatologist may also be effective in cases where a person is unresponsive to, or intolerant of pain medications. Music-thanatology can facilitate life review and interior reflection.
Music-thanatology vigils are ideal palliative care for those who are experiencing:

  • physiological pain
  • mental, emotional, or spiritual suffering
  • respiratory compromise
  • sleep deprivation
  • anger
  • restlessness
  • anxiety
  • fearfulness
  • loneliness

Family members may be present and the vigil can benefit them greatly as well.
